Food was great, not greasy. Portions were good. Great service and the restaurant was spotless.
Simple Charlie's Seafood has been around for over 50 years for a reason! They are very consistent and reasonably priced. You're not going to get a better fish sandwich. I can go here and get a haddock sandwich and a chicken sandwich and you wouldn't even know it was purchased at the same place. I don't know where they get this seafood from, but it is delicious. Tip: Take Out Good food, good crew.
Been going to Charlie's for half a century! Basic fried clams and fish with fried potatoes or onion rings. They also offer broiled dinners, American burgers, chicken and chowder. There is plenty of parking and booths to eat at. Of course they specialize in takeout. It seems Yelp lost my previous reviews and photos.
Is Charlie's a little expensive? Yes it is but if you want the best you got a pay a little bit more I've never had a bad meal there. I always favor the place during lent and then Cindy and I buy a lot of haddock, broil and fried. It's all great she loves, the scallops their base scallops very very sweet and every clam has a big fat belly. I'm getting hungry. Try it you'll like it.
Was the first customer of the day. Got a seafood platter to split with my girl. Not sure why they are cutting up the scallops now. My thought as a chef is they are buying fresh randoms and cutting them to be uniform for cooking purposes. Everything was fresh and yummy. I'd give it a 4 out of 5.
Charlie's Seafood Lynn,MA 188 Essex St 781-595-8953 Made a trip over to Essex St a little while ago for a late dine-in experience at Charlie's. Chicken fingers -- hand breaded and freshly made, they were absolutely delicious and I'll go as far as saying they're the best chicken fingers from any take-out restaurant here in Lynn. Haddock Basket -- quite possibly the freshest, best tasting fried haddock in Lynn (it's between them and RF O'Sullivan's). It was very, very good with the crinkle . The tartar sauce? Personally I wasn't a big fan but still used a little. Impossible for me to compare them to what they may have been in the past because I only first tried them about 2 years ago . But tonight's dine-in experience overall was excellent including the friendly service from their staff! I look forward to trying several other items on their menu (picture attached)
